Doctor’s Orders

Monday, January 8th 2007 @ 12:02 pm by Catherine

Well, I’ve finally got round to bloging again. Christmas went well and I didn’t end up too tired although, I’m definitely getting an air bed next christmas if Richard and I end up staying over night at my grandma’s since the futon mattres is really uncomfortable to sleep on.

My resolution for the new year is to follow my doctor’s orders better and try and get some exercise to help my joints. I’m managing to do a little walking but still have not done any swimming. This is partly due to the local swimming pool being closed for refurbishment, it’s been closed for 14 weeks and is opening again at the begining of Febuary, so it shows how much I’ve been trying to go swimming. So just to get a new costume and I’ll be set to start again.

It seems we still don’t have anybody reading our site so I’ll just have to email some people to let them know we are up and running again.

On the Move and Site Revamp

Saturday, October 28th 2006 @ 10:06 am by Catherine

I guess I really should have updated this blog much sooner, sadly it’s been over a year since the last post. I hope that it will be not so long until I post again but only time will tell.

I’ve been quite unwell since last autum which has left me very tired and able to do very little, now I’m coping a little better I’m finaly gettting back to the things I enjoy.

Richard and I will hopefully be moving before Christmas if not soon after to a house in Peacehaven which is to the east of Brighton on the coast. It’s going to be strange not living in the centre of Brighton but it will be nice to have a little more space.

Once we move we are planing to revamp the site, but as yet we haven’t decided what exactly we want to do. If there is anybody who still reads our blog, we would love to hear of any ideas you have.

Sad News

Friday, September 24th 2004 @ 7:20 pm by Richard

Hello Everyone who is reading, thank you all for your messages and posts it is really great to feel that people are thinking about you, praying about you and most importantly wanting to know about you.

We have been having some sad times recently as Yesterday was Catherine’s Grandfathers funeral, it has been putting a lot of strain on us just having something else to deal with. Catherine has not been well either, although she is now on the mend. We are finaly getting our home sorted out.

At the funeral the song “My Way” was played, I think is summerises Catherine’s Grandads life.

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I’ll say it clear,
I’ll state my case, of which I’m certain.

I’ve lived a life that’s full.
I’ve traveled each and ev’ry highway;
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I’ve had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried.
I’ve had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say – not in a shy way,
“No, oh no not me,
I did it my way”.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows –
And did it my way!

Catherine’s Leg

Tuesday, May 11th 2004 @ 8:58 pm by Richard

Catherine has managed to pull various ligaments in her leg, knee and foot. Surprisingly enough she did not manage this through any heroc dive to save a child, or some nasty ladder accident… no she did it by moving her leg.

We don’t know how it happened, but she was near on immobalised with it after she did it and it is slowly getting better two days later.

We met up with Mark today in town and spent some time with him on the beach before heading up to Churchill Square to have a drink. I am still not well, I was flaking while I was out because of the heat and dehydration. Catherine is worried that I am getting headaches because of the come down from the paracetamol that I am taking to get rid of the headaches, which is odd as I never had that before.

Anyway, we will try and blog more, for all those people that have given up on us and gone away.

Housy House

Wednesday, March 17th 2004 @ 5:50 pm by Richard

The official Catherine and Richard house hunt has started, Catherine spent some of last week looking for houses on the internet and she has found one that looks promising. I have phoned up the landlady who has agreed to meet me there to show me the house on Friday morning, I am quite aprehensive about it because I don’t like looking round houses on my own. I always miss the obvious things that are going to be a problem.

Other than house news, I am doing much better in terms of health… I am feeling a lot better, still very tired but that is probably because I am not sleeping properly because of the stress of project, dissertation, coursework and lectures. I will try and get a good sleep tonight. Catherine is a little bored because her Father tried to sort out the internet for her on her computer and now it dosn’t work at all, very annoying as it means we don’t get to talk on teamspeak Sad

Feeling Better

Monday, March 15th 2004 @ 12:20 pm by Richard

We are both feeling much better now, our cold went from bad to worse and we both ended up with a mild chest infection. Fortunatly now we are both much better.

We went to visit my parents on the weekend, it was great to see them as I have not been home since announcing our engagement, it was a shame that we couldn’t spend more time with them. My mum goes off to Spring Harvest in three weeks time, which is where Catherine and I first really started to get to know eachother really well, we both want to be there but unfortunatly financial and time limitations stop us.

We also popped into Elim, my home church, for Sunday morning, the worship was great things really seem to be picking up for the worship team, we got prayed for by all of the elders after we had gone up the front and announced our engagement officialy, most people knew but some didn’t. I finaly got the chance to ask Pete Arthur to be my best man and his words were “I have no hesitation in saying yes” which was a relief!

I have a mountain of work to be getting on with so I better get back to it… I must admit that EVE:Online is motivating me to do some more work as it is something to look forward to, although I must be carefult not to play too much, how ever tempting that may be.

We have been Ill

Friday, March 5th 2004 @ 11:21 pm by Catherine

Sorry there have been no posts for a few days both Richard and I have been ill with a throat infection and have hardly been able to do anything. We are feeling a little better but not quite back to full health.

Not much has really happened, I was suposed to meet up with one of my bridesmaids to get her dress today but I couldn’t go into London as I’m too ill for all that traveling. I’ll have to see if I can rearrange it for next week but I don’t know when it will happen with me back and forward to Brighton all the time.

I spoke to my mum and she is planing to make a big thing out of Winnie the Pooh at the reception. I’ve been told basicly what is happening but then have to trust my mum on the rest. To tell the truth I’m a little worried but it should be fine. Richard and I have decided to have all the tables named after characters from Winne the Pooh, which I think is so cool.

Anyways I should go as it’s late and I still need a lot of sleep.

God Bless,
Catherine
