At the moment I am quite clearly blogging, however in the wider scheme of things I have been fairly busy. My attempts to take over the world of EVE have so far failed, I am however fairly satisfied with my progress, I have a nice little operation going buying and selling virtual materials, ships, modules and ammunition. Outside of the Virtual world I have been contributing to the EVE Online Wikipedia article and EVEMon (A EVE Skill planner).
On the topic of Virtual stuff, I am quite enjoying reading both Richard Bartle’s “Designing Virtual Worlds” and Edward Castronova’s “Synthetic Worlds: The business and culture of online games” as well as reading blog entries by all sorts of MMOG experts (Including Bartle and Castronova) on Terra Nova.
House hunting has all but ground to a halt, there is so little on the market at the moment that we are going to wait for the new year before searching maniacally. The current flat is serving us for the moment, so neither of us are unhappy with where we are living, which is good.

Finaly Catherine and I have found a flat that we like the look of, it is just off the dials and about 20 minutes walk from work. I am very relieved as it was starting to worry me… now all I have to worry about is the references going through smoothly, all being well we should be able to move house in the last week of the month.
And just as a note, if anyone is looking for a house or a flat in Brighton, you honestly can’t go far wrong with Tanat-Jones they are based on Western Road just down from Waitroes towards Hove. They have been excelent working really hard to find us this flat, I am very impressed.

Catherine and I have been doing quite a bit of house hunting recently, we have needed to as our current tennancy agreement runs out at the end of June! Over the last week we have looked at about 10 houses, so far we have found three possable houses. The first unfortunatly was somewhat over valued and we had to turn it down although the location, space and decour was almost exactly what we wanted. Interestingly enough it is still on the market.
Two other properties are much of a muchness, they have about the same space and cost the same, both are converted houses (something I think I prefer over flats) I haven’t seen the second one myself.
We did take a look at a house in Hove that made us (and the letting agent) laugh, first of all the banister was very very loose… and i mean one swift kick and it would be at the bottom of the stairs, then whatever we touched round the house seemed to either come off in our hands or not be what we expected.
Oh and one last gripe, it seems that Your Move wont give lettings for people who are not able to give them a Home or Work landline… there are more than a few people in the country who don’t have a need for a landline… why pay £10 a month just to have a phone that can’t follow you arround! My mobile serves us perfectly well if someone wants to have a conversation with us they phone us after 7 and we phone them back, I don’t see the arguement that “everyone must have a landline!”

We got a flat!!!!
It was only the second flat that we looked at, but the landlord and lady seemed lovely, the tennancy agreement is all in order and the price it not too bad (painfull never the less), the flat is 5 minutes walk from Churchill Square, 2 Minutes from Waitrose on the 25 Bus route… all in all a perfect location both Catherine and I think we will be very happy

I certainly have been wondering this myself since I went to look at a house with Catherine today… it is 2 minutes for Churchill Square, 30 seconds from the bus stop and its a listed property… and most importantly the price is gooooooood.
We are going to sleep on it a bit before we make any decisions, but I would not be at all surpriesed if it was the house we spent the first two years of our marrage in

Saddly the flat we went to see wasn’t suitable, it was far too small for what we need since we have two computers to setup since I need mine with all my special equipment.
We have another two flats to look at lined up. We are seeing one of them tomorrow afternoon so hopefully this will be more promising and have more space. We idealy need somewhere which we can have a study since I’m going to have so much work to do for next year with all the coursework and my final year project.

The official Catherine and Richard house hunt has started, Catherine spent some of last week looking for houses on the internet and she has found one that looks promising. I have phoned up the landlady who has agreed to meet me there to show me the house on Friday morning, I am quite aprehensive about it because I don’t like looking round houses on my own. I always miss the obvious things that are going to be a problem.
Other than house news, I am doing much better in terms of health… I am feeling a lot better, still very tired but that is probably because I am not sleeping properly because of the stress of project, dissertation, coursework and lectures. I will try and get a good sleep tonight. Catherine is a little bored because her Father tried to sort out the internet for her on her computer and now it dosn’t work at all, very annoying as it means we don’t get to talk on teamspeak
